The Moderator of the General Assembly of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante on Sunday, May 23, 2021 paid a one-day working visit to the Sakumono District of the Church.
He was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Florence Mante and other officers at the General Assembly Office including Rev. Mrs. Esther Oduro, Director of Church Life and Nature, The Director of Finance, Mr. Alex De-Graft Hanson, Director of Finance at the Head Office. and other officers of the General Assembly Office. Present at the service were the Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye and the Clerk of Ga Presbytery, Rev. Solomon Nii Mensah Adjei.
The visit of the Moderator was to acquaint himself with the life of the Church in the Sakumono District. The Moderator of the General Assembly. worshipped with the Hope Congregations in a service which had representatives of the six local congregations and two preaching points.
In a brief exaltation before and an interactive engagement with the congregation, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah urged the leadership of the District and the various local congregations to develop effective strategies for divine increase concerning church growth across the district.
The Moderator encouraged Agents and all members of the Church to embrace the Vision 1.5 Project, an evangelism programme of the PCG meant to reignite the zeal of the members towards personal evangelism in order to win many perishing souls for the kingdom of God. He advised congregants not to relent of their efforts to preach the Gospel to all creation as commanded by Jesus Christ.
He also tasked the locals to allocate more time to prayer within. their divine services and become more vibrant with the word of God in the worship life of the Church.
The Sakumono District Minister, Rev Emmanuel Obeng Ntow who welcomed the Moderator and his entourage gave an overview of the Churches activities since the creation of the district eleven years ago.
